Our Focus
Our 2's program provides a safe and nurturing first learning environment. Our free play, small group activities, and circle time encourages social interaction. Children are introduced to a structured, yet flexible daily plan designed to help children transition easily from home to school. The classroom ratio is 1:4.
Our 3's program fosters positive relationships with peers and adults to play and work cooperatively. We present age appropriate activities to promote development of fine and gross motor skills in preparation for reading and writing. We use movement and multi sensory approach to skill building. The classroom ratio is 1:6.
Our 4's program develops skills and confidence needed to build a strong foundation for kindergarten and beyond. Children are encouraged to take care of their own needs, environment, and community. We provide an atmosphere where each child can grow and learn in their own unique way. The classroom ratio is 1:7.
Our Full Day program for 2's, 3's and 4's includes morning Preschool, followed by lunch and rest time. In the afternoons the children will explore themes such as world cultures, American music genres, and emotions.
All classes are 5 days a week.

We will offer summer care programs for children ages 4 and 5 requiring year round care.
Lani Hoffmann - 4's class teacher
and Registrar
Mrs. Hoffmann is a Maryland Childcare Credentialed teacher and has been working in our program for over 20 years. She holds her 90 hour Early Childhood Certification from Howard Community College and a Bachelors of Arts in History from American University. In addition to the nursery school, Mrs. Hoffmann's early childhood experience includes Sunday School teacher, Cub Scout den leader, Vacation Bible School volunteer and director, and substitute teacher in the public schools. She is proud to say that both of her children attended RUMNS.

Kirstyn Hutchinson - Director and 3's class teacher
Mrs. Hutchinson is a Maryland Child Care Credentialed teacher and has her 90 hour Early Childhood Certification from the Maryland Institute for Teachers, and her 45 hour School Age Certification from Howard Community College, and has her Director's Certification in Child Care Administration. She enjoys working with children of all ages, and is also the director of a summer camp and after school program for school aged children.
Nicole Brennan - 2's teacher
Mrs. Brennan is a Maryland Childcare Credentialed teacher and has been teaching at RUMNS since 2017. She is a graduate of Towson University with over 10 years of early childhood experience including her 90 hour certification in Early Childhood Education. When Mrs. Brennan isn't working she enjoys spending time with her husband and two children (one an alumni of RUMNS).
