Our Curricula

We are a Christian school...

Our Christian-based preschool nurtures both the spiritual and developmental growth of each child. Rooted in biblical teachings, we incorporate faith into every aspect of the school day. We begin each day with morning prayer, setting a positive and peaceful tone for the children. Throughout the day, children also learn Bible stories, which help build a strong moral foundation and deepen their understanding of God's love. Each class prays before meals, creating moments of gratitude and fellowship. Our celebration of Christian holidays allows children to connect with the meaningful traditions of the faith, fostering a sense of joy and reverence. Each month, we are blessed to have chapel with Pastor Jen Eschliman and her husband, where children experience age-appropriate lessons and worship. This special time helps children grow spiritually while forming a deeper connection to their faith and the Christian community. Overall, our curriculum blends academic learning with Christian values, offering a holistic approach to preschool education that encourages kindness, compassion, and a love for God.

Heggerty Curriculum

At our school, we use the science-based Heggerty Curriculum for literacy across all classes, which is designed to build a strong foundation for reading and writing skills. For our Early Pre-K students, the focus is on phonemic awareness, which helps children understand how sounds work in language. Through engaging activities such as songs, rhyming, letter sounds, and various literacy-based concepts, children are actively involved in the learning process, making it fun and interactive. For our Pre-K students, we use the Heggerty Pre-Kindergarten daily curriculum, which is specifically designed to build strong phonemic awareness skills. The curriculum focuses on eight key phonemic awareness skills: rhyme, onset fluency, phoneme isolation, blending, segmenting, adding, deleting, and substituting. These skills are fundamental for developing early reading and writing abilities. In addition to these phonemic awareness skills, the curriculum also emphasizes letter names, sound recognition, and language awareness through the use of nursery rhymes. By integrating these fun and engaging activities, children not only strengthen their literacy skills but also develop a deeper understanding of language, all while enjoying a playful and interactive learning experience. The Heggerty Curriculum is research-backed and proven to effectively develop these essential skills in young learners, ensuring that they are well-prepared for future reading and language success. Our goal is to make learning enjoyable while fostering a love for language and literacy from an early age!

Connect 4 Learning

The Pre-K Connect 4 Learning curriculum is a comprehensive, research-based program designed to support the developmental needs of young children. It focuses on building a strong foundation in key areas such as social-emotional development, early literacy, mathematics, science, and creative arts. The curriculum is play-based, allowing children to learn through exploration, interaction, and hands-on experiences. One of the key features of Connect 4 Learning is its emphasis on building critical thinking skills through engaging activities and rich content. The curriculum promotes problem-solving, language development, and collaborative learning, encouraging children to express themselves, work with peers, and develop confidence in their abilities. The program is structured around thematic units that integrate various subjects, helping children see the connections between their learning and the world around them. It also encourages children to explore different perspectives, fostering curiosity and a love for learning. Overall, Pre-K Connect 4 Learning offers a balanced, developmentally appropriate approach to early childhood education that nurtures the whole child, preparing them for success in kindergarten and beyond.
